Research Interests
Dr. Liu has been involved with numerous clinical trials to evaluate the safety and effectiveness of new devices and medicine for the management patients with complex thyroid and breast problems. His clinial interests include the use of laryngeal nerve real-time monitoring for protection and the nipple sparing mastectomy for breast cancer and one-stage prosthesis reconstruction.
Dr. Liu has served as the principal investigator for projects involving parathyroid culture, cryopreservation and transplantation. He is currently serving as the principal investigator to evaluate oncolytic herpes simplex virus for treating breast and thyroid cancer. He has also been involved as PI for the expression of ERβ and its variants ERβ1 and ERβcx in breast cancer and their clinical significance.
