examining patients to detect surgical pathology and to determine the necessity of operations,

observing in-patients in surgical, traumatological and resuscitation departments during the night duties

Assessing and initially managing patients who have presented with the following gastrointestinal problems:

1) Acute gastrointestinal haemorrhage

        2) Significant diarrhoea associated with both infectious causes of diarrhoea and inflammatory bowel disease

         3) Assessment of patients with chronic liver failure and management of the complications of cirrhosis including ascites and portal systemic encephalopathy

Technical proficiency in the performance of essential operations/procedures, plus knowledge, familiarity and in some cases proficiency with more uncommon and complex operations in such areas alimentary tract, abdomen and its contents, breast, skin and soft tissue, endocrine system, organ transplantation, pediatric surgery, surgical critical care, surgical oncology (including Head and Neck Surgery),trauma/burns and acute care surgery, vascular surgery.

Clinical knowledge, including epidemiology, anatomy, physiology, clinical presentation, and pathology (including neoplasia).

Knowledge of the scientific foundations, including wound healing; infection; fluid management; shock and resuscitation; immunology; antibiotic usage; metabolism; and use of enteral and parenteral nutrition.

Experience and skill in the following areas: clinical evaluation and management, or stabilization and referral, of patients with surgical diseases; management of preoperative, operative and postoperative care; management of comorbidities and complications; and knowledge of appropriate use and interpretation of radiologic and other diagnostic imaging.

As gastroenterology surgeon

Especially familiar with diseases affecting the gastrointestinal tract, a variety of surgical procedures performed on the organs and conduits of the digestive system, including:Laparoscopy,appendectomy,laparotomy,exploratory,ileostomy,splenectomy,abdominal,gastrectomy,hemorrhoidectomy,umbilical hernia repair, gastrostomy, inguinal hernia repair, incisional hernia repair, small bowel resection, gastroduodenostomy, rectal prolapse repair, intussusception reduction, abscess incision and drainage, rectal resection, intestinal obstruction repair, abdominal wall defect repair.

I have participated in a lot of above operations/procedures, especially skill in the laparoscopy operation for the gastro-intestinal tumors, 5~8 laparoscopy operations one week for gastric, colon and rectal tumor. And could do laparoscopy operations for gastrointestinal tumor by myself under the supervision of the professor.
