Introduction

Benquan Wu , MD

Titles

Professor of Respiratory Medicine

Director, Medical Intensive Care Unit

Doctoral Supervisor

Research Interests

-  Infection

-  Respiratory Infection

-  Bacterial Resistance

-  MODS&MOF

-  Immune Cells and Inflammatory Mediators

His main missions focused on the pathogenicity of MRSA isolated from lower respiratory tract. He found that constant MRSA pulmonary infection may be associated with its immune evasion from human alveolar macrophage cells. He has been involved in the field of critical illness including severe sepsis, respiratory failure, AKIhemodynamic monitoring (ICG, PICCO) and CRRT. His projects concerning immune evasion of MRSA were supported by two items of NSFC (National Natural Science Foundation of China) in 2006 and 2011, respectively.
