Introduction of the department of cardiology
The department of cardiology was established in 1973. It consists of two sites separately located in Tianhe and Luogang hospitals. There are 5 Professors, 11 Associate Professors, 8 medical doctors and 14 medical masters. Our department has more than ten thousands outpatient visits per year and almost 100 inpatient beds. We provide undergraduate, master, Ph.D and advanced study program for students. Our “National Continuing Education Program” and “Evidence-based Medicine Learning Class” has admitted students from overall the country and received great success in recent years. The department used to undertake or participate over 20 research projects funded by National 973 Project, Natural Science Foundation of China, Science and Technology Agency of Guangdong province, and 211 Project Construction, etc. More than 200 papers have published on domestic and international journals.
